new return policy

Maybe I've missed it but I cannot find anywhere what ebay is going to charge us for return postage.

I've sold on here for 15 years.  Between the managed payments and the return policies it's getting as bad as Amazon.  Greedy asshats.

new return policy

I've read in a couple of posts that they will use Priority mail, but I don't think anyone has the official information yet. Probably to wait until the 14th when it becomes official to find out. I like how they promised 60 day notice on policy changes then hit sellers with this with less than a months notice.

Sellers should fully expect that the shipping charge (plus a fee) will be charged to them by eBay for a return shipping label.

this is more frustrated part of policy for sellers,

"eTRS sellers and sellers who offer free returns can now offer partial refunds, up to 50%, if the item is returned in a condition different than when you shipped it."

so if you are trs or offer free return then you can offer partial refunds up to 50% , means seller can only offer refunds? and then buyer will decide to accept it or not! big question mark here, means seller cannot deduct but can only offer partial refund, off course , no buyer will accept partial refund.if this is a policy soon i will switch to amazon. i sell here because its look like better then amazon when its comes to seller protections but when there is no difference between orange and apple then better to have one. below is link for details

No, 50% is not an 'option for buyer to accept'.. you just 'do it' when refunding. No explanation required (but you should have good reason, or eventually you won't be able to do it anymore). Also, you don't have to offer 'free returns' for this, only be TRS.

The label is USPS, 1st Class (although over 16oz will still be charged according to USPS). Ebay get's billed for this amount and passes it on, so they don't know at the time. Can depend on what customer uses to ship back (same envelope, same box, bigger box? etc.- so it's an 'unknown' until it's done.

could you please provide any link where its says seller can deduct up to 50% from sept 14, https://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/service-and-payments/returns.html#streamlined-returns

in above links its only says, seller can offer only up to 50% . which is not clear " offering " is something "deducting " is something. its totally contradiction from the current policy.

On  2 returns I have processed since receiving the notice of policy change, each time my shipping label that I furnished to the customer cost approximately $50 less than what ebay quoted for the return label ( I checked that option to see the amount before I cancelled that and uploaded my own label.  Since I deal in heavier items, ebay will cost me $50 MORE per return and in some cases that's 1/3  - 1/2 of the cost of the item.  All because eBay  will not allow us to issue our own return shipping label after the policy is in place.  I'm very upset about that.    Looking into Amazon as well.  Why would they make it that way unless they are making some o that difference.  .
