You are trying to ship through First Class Package Service? the one that comes with tracking?

Then choose PACKAGE.

Large Envelope/Flat is likely not what you need.  Is the package lumpy?

not a uniform thickness it does stick out in some places. the large envelope option doesnt come with tracking? also its only 5x7 and weighs 2 oz and package price is $3.66 almost the price of the item itself!

You should have figured that out and adjusted your price before listing.

Its rather common for shipping fees to equal or exceed the price of the item.

We have two factors rapidly working to achieve that:

eBay is the low end market place for many items compared to other venues.

Postal fees, in part thanks to eBay's practices, have dramatically went up.

This is from USPS's 2002 Notice 123 publication:

Underestimating the cost of shipping is another great reason for not using flat or free shipping.

The main reason not to use flat or free shipping is that you have to increase the price of the product by the maximum amount of shipping you expect to pay. That forces every buyer to pay the highest cost as opposed to calculated shipping which makes buyers pay according to their location. Flat and free shipping lead to less sales as they lead to higher costs for buyers.

We can't answer your question because you haven't told us anything about what is IN the envelope. USPS First Class mail is divided into 3 categories: letters, flats (AKA Large envelopes), and packages. An envelope could fall into any of those 3 categories.

In order to be mailed as a letter, a piece must weigh no more than 3.5 ounces and dimensions must be"n

ot more than 11-1/2 inches long, or more than 6-1/8 inches high, or greater than 1/4-inch thick."

In order to be mailed as a flat, a piece must weigh no more than 13 ounces and it must be literally flat (variation in thickness of no more than 1/4 inch), flexible, and "not more than 15 inches long or more than 12 inches high or more than 3/4 inch thick".
