I was just printing a shipping label. The option to add a message to buyer is missing. Has anyone else noticed that? What a terrible idea. I will always let that buyer know that the label I am printing at midnight will be shipped the following day.
Additional Options

It seems like Ebay doesn't want Good Customer Service any more. I have been a Seller for 21 years. I always send a message when I print the label Thanking them for their purchase, telling them their item is on the way and to allow a little extra time, just in case of mail delays in their area. That is Good Customer Service. Now Ebay has removed that option. I called Customer Service and of course they told me that I could go to the item, and send the buyer a message that way. A Lot of Added work, just because Ebay decided to remove the option on the shipping label. I too am not Happy about removing this option.

You are So Right. It is Good Customer Service. I have been selling for 21 years and have found that buyers always like a personal message - not some text number on the package.

When you have repeat Customers, who you have always sent a personal message Thanking them for their purchase, it seems really Crude just to ship their item and NOTHING. I have been a Seller on Ebay for 21 years and Never had more than 10 days down time in 21 years. Over that 21 years, I sure have seen Ebay make some Bad Decisions and this is sure One of Them.

Argghhh! Yes of course we can still message elsewhere. But those of us who live rurally understand the increased time slower internet requires. Every step in the process can cause many minutes of effort to do simple tasks. The ability to messsage while completing an order (without having to drum our fingers on the laptop waiting for a signal) was nice.

I agree. And with the 'dispatch message', they can't respond to it. If you sent a message 'contact buyer' then they'll probably respond, even if it's just a "Thanks!". Sometimes you'd get more than that, like the reason why they're buying XYZ , but then you feel obligated to respond. More time wasted.

There are a few places within the shipping label process that have an option to provide feedback to eBay about the process. I suggest to anyone that is as displeased with this change as I am to let them know about it. If they ever bring the feature back--however unlikely--it will be because enough sellers complained.

I am missing this feature too. It was a useful tool to warn the buyer in a more personal way that their item is en route. Going back to sold item and contacting the buyer from there is an extra step and time! When you are sending 10-12 parcels daily it just not convenient! EBay please bring it back!
