I work as a mail carrier. I've been with the post office for 20 years. Magazines are considered media and can be shipped this way.

You are wrong.  Magazines of any age contain advertising, and thus CANNOT be shipped via Media Mail.

I think I've got it now. The OP is selling magazines. I am assuming a buyer asked why the OP is not using Media Mail to send the magazines.

Many of your single magazines could be shipped First Class. I just weighed a HGTV mag and it is 9 oz w/o an envelope mailer.
