Hello,

 

to keep story short, on 25. November I bought an item from UK that was shipped by the Global Shipping Programm to the Netherlands. The item kind of got lost - the tracking showed delivered (6. December), but the item was not at my place, nor at neighbours, etc... I waited for 2 days I think and called the shipping company (DHL) to find out that something went wrong with them, the package scan is invalid & they've got other 150 packages of the same driver messed up & they are unable to tell me where the package is. They tell me that the SENDER has to open the investigation with them to find the package, I can not do it.

 

OK, no problem for the first time. I contact the seller (item not received, 8. December), explain him the situation and I ask him to contact DHL to open investigation. The seller just confirms tracking information for ebay so the case is automatically closed against me.

 

OK, no problem for the second time. I contact seller again (two messages), and explain the situationonce again. He tells me that I have to solve it with ebay and didn't care anymore.

 

OK, I appeal the case (12. December), spend quite some time on the phone and I spent ~as much as the item cost on phone bills (smth like 20-30 EUR). I provided ebay with email confirmation from DHL, that sender has to start investigation, blabla... Ebay refunds me instead of opening investigation(13. December). 

 

OK, fine, even though I wanted to have the item ASAP (before christmas, it's present for myself :D), I order a new item so that there's possibility it will come before I leave Netherl. for Holidays. Today, 14. December I received the original item. What to do?

 

I always wanted both seller and ebay to open investigation rather than refund. Also, I'm not willing to spend any more money on phone calls to ebay, since it's so stupidely difficult to reach them from the Netherl. at least. What should I do now? There's no email contact in the resolution outcome....

Actually.....the other response is wrong. The GSP refunded you. Not the seller. There is no one to return the item to. Its yours. Ebay won't re-invoice you so you can repay either. You could return it to the seller but thats not right, they kept the money from the sale.

Offer to return the item for which you have received a refund.

ok, tried that.

 

another question though. Since the package was sent by ebay's Glob. shipp. progr., does the seller cover the refund or ebay, since it was basically handed over to them by the seller? Not that I'd feel sorry for this particular seller if it was covered by him since he behaved quite arrogant, but...
