lost in the mail

Hello. It appears that an item was lost in transit just before it reached me. I have been waiting a long time and decided to track it. I opened a claim and have communicated with the seller who is sending another that will take a long time. The seller wants me to drop the claim. I am thinking that I will wait until I receive the item to drop the claim. I want to be fair. Suggestions welcome. thanks!

DO NOT CLOSE THE CASE !!  You can't reopen it if you do.  Ask for a full refund.  You can always pay again if it ever arrives.

Hi, I assume you opened an item not received claim, DO NOT close that claim, once you do you can not open another one. It sounds like the seller is overseas, China maybe, and is trying to string you along long enough to time out your 30 day window for a not received claim.  This is a common fraud tactic. Let the claim play out and refund, if you do receive the replacement  you can re-pay the seller.
