I purchased a bike trainer that UPS said they delivered on 5/22/2020 at 8:03 pm.  My daughter and I were out getting food for the family while my husband was home when UPS said they delivered, and when I got home there was no package at my door.

My husband looked at our ring doorbell video and showed me that there was an entry at 7:47 pm of my daughter and I going out to get food and the next entry is 8:07 pm was my daughter and I coming back with the food.  There was no entry for 8:03 pm. The only delivery we had that day was our mail lady giving us our mail at 4:29 pm.

I tried for file a claim but eBay closed the case. There was no way to email the footage, there is no way to start an appeal, and when I called the customer service line it told me to go to the website and hung-up. I know times are tough with COVID-19 and all, but could someone help me out? I have the proof! I just need a place to send it!

Have you contacted UPS? That should be your first contact. They can tell you exactly where any package was delivered.

With respect to delivery claims, the only evidence used here on eBay is tracking information.  As mentioned above, you need to contact UPS to see if (a) the delivery address of the package matches yours, and (b) whether or not the driver delivered the package to the proper address ... they can check GPS data.

If (a) is a problem, then come back here for more guidance.

If (b) is a problem, then UPS can help retrieve the misdelivered package ... or you have an insurance claim.

If (a) and (b) match your address, then your package is either stolen or obscured somewhere around your home.

All eBay looks at is there was a delivery scan to your zip code.

First things first you need to contact UPS ASAP. Have them check the GPS location of the delivery. If they can not collect the miss delivered package and deliver it to you then you need to file an insurance claim with UPS.

I was the victim of a UPS tracking number scan of an item I purchasee on eBay on May 10 and paid for through PayPal. UPS and PayPal being used is not just by chance. UPS is a shipping service and a PayPal payment service. If USPS tracking or a *BANK* credit card were used, then the fraud would be of interest to a federal agency like the FBI (or at least their Internet Crime Complaint Center). I was advised by UPS that My time would be best spent filing a dispute with PayPal (the company that handled the financial part of the transaction). Unfortunately PayPal doesn't have the option to open a dispute (case) for fraud, so a "missing package" dispute case is the best option to select for the case.  PayPal doesn't "investigate" they "adjudicate" so you have to provide the proof. Your video isn't what will win your case. FIle a claim with UPS as the receiver (any financial settlement for the claim goes to the sender). Eventually (seven to ten days) UPS will send you a claim status report that includes the USP tracking number, the ship to address and the ship from address. Any fool should see from the status report that the tracking number was for a "decay" package but PayPay doesn't see it. Get them to call UPS to confrirm what the report states in plain English.

You should have contacted UPS the next day to see where they delivered your package.

They won't take any video as proof of anything.

They go by tracking and if tracking shows the item was delivered to your zip code, they will find in favor of the seller.

If the package had a different address and you can get something from UPS stating that, then you can use that information to appeal the case.

Have a great day.

The US Postal Inspectors are over the private carriers too not just USPS.

When I use PayPal I always fund with a Credit Card, it (depending on the card) provides an additional layer of protection.

I have a similar situation but you cannot open a claim with UPS as a buyer they will only allow the seller/shipper to do so. Your best bet is to get in contact with the seller and ask them to open an investigation via UPS.

Because I did not give UPS the money to ship the bike trainer, they will not help.
