If you change or reroute it, you can lose your seller protection and/or it could be a scam. Rerouting also is not free and is not guaranteed. What carrier did you use?
If it went USPS, best to have buyer put a forwarding order at their old post office.
If it comes back to you, you can invoice buyer to reship.
If it doesn't come back, buyer just bought old address owners a free gift.

If you’ve already completed your purchase but need to make a change to your address or shipping details, contact the seller as soon as possible to let them know.
Are you a seller looking for information on shipping options and sending items? Read our articles on:
Setting up shipping options
Labels, addressing and packaging tips
If the seller has already sent your package, they won’t be able to make changes to your order. If possible, you should try to collect your item from the address used at checkout.
Changing your shipping address after you’ve paid
Sellers generally can’t change the shipping address that you provided at checkout. If they haven’t yet sent the item, the best thing to do is to ask the seller to cancel the transaction, then buy the item again with the correct shipping address.
If you made your purchase in the last hour, you can cancel the order yourself. We’ll ask the seller to confirm that they haven’t sent the item yet.
If it’s been more than an hour since your purchase, you’ll need to contact the seller and ask them to cancel it for you. Here’s how:
Go to Purchase history, and find the order you want to cancel.
Select Contact seller.
Choose Request to cancel this order, and then Contact the seller.
Explain to the seller why you need to cancel, and select Send.
For more help, see our article on canceling an order.
If the seller has already shipped your order, or if they don’t accept the cancellation, the package will be sent to the address you originally selected.
Changing the shipping method after you’ve paid
If the seller hasn’t yet sent your package, you can ask them if it’s possible to change the shipping method. If they agree, you may need to send extra payment for an express or tracked option.
If the seller isn’t willing to change the shipping method, you can ask them to cancel the order and buy the item again with the correct shipping method.
Changing your shipping details at checkout
When you’re buying an item, you’ll confirm the shipping method and address at checkout. Make sure you check these details carefully before completing your purchase.
We’ll automatically enter your primary shipping address in the Ship to field. If it’s incorrect, or if you want the item sent to a different address, select Change. You can then edit the address, select a different address, or add a new address.

Are you sure the message came from the actual buyer? A common scam is for a third party to message a seller acting as if they were the buyer and wanting an address change. If that is the case, then the proper response is to just let the package continue on its way.

Tell your buyer they are asking the impossible

If the message is definitely from the buyer - tell her to get on Usps.com and file a forwarding order for her mail. She should have done that anyway when she moved. The way things are moving now - she will have PLENTY of time to get that done. Today would be a good day.
If the message is from someone else whose Ebay ID does not match that of your buyer then simply ignore and delete.
