fedex shipping label

How do I get eBay to create a FedEx shipping label using eBay's discount?  After 3 calls to their support staff and more than 2 hours on the phone, we finally have a page with my address info, my buyer's address info, and some text that included the line "Shipping & Handling (FedEx Ground or FedEx Home Delivery): $144", which was the amount I got from the eBay-supplied FedEx Shipping Calculator.  But the format of the page is nothing like a shipping label, and there's no bar code.

I'm afraid I mostly can't make heads or tails of what you are doing. It sounds like you are on an eBay "Buyer Invoice" creation page, not at the eBay FedEx Shipping labels page.

The only way I'm aware of to get to an eBay shipping label creation page is through a specific transaction. (If you use Seller Hub and not Selling Manager or My eBay pages you will have to figure it out yourself)

Go to your My eBay Sold Items page: http://my.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MyEbayBeta&CurrentPage=MyeBayNextSold

Locate the item, and the "Print Shipping Label" option should be the default button on the right (if not then click the "More Actions" dropdown on the right and select "Print Shipping Label" from there.

That should take you to the label page, which, if you set up the listing with FedEx shipping correctly, should be all mostly set up with FedEx selected and your address, buyers shipping address, package weight and dimensions, and correct FedEx service filled in and selected.

(Be very careful about entering correct dimensions and weights or you will get bitten after the fact and upcharged by FedEx later after delivery)

Turns out the solution is simple; just not very easy to find.  Getting eBay to provide the shipping label (and the associated discount) is only available if the item has been paid for using Paypal.  My buyer paid with a certified check (which cleared in 3 days with no problem) because he's angry with Paypal.  I hope eBay will document that requirement.

It's been so long since I received anything but a PayPal payment that it wouldn't apply anyway, but I think that is incorrect.

Are you saying that you can't print any shipping label (FedEx or USPS) for a sale without an associated PayPal payment? Or that only FedEx is not available? Or that neither was available?

It has always been possible to print a label for any eBay sale, even one not paid for. Unless something has changed, your situation would be the same and labels should be available.

You didn't say what the actual solution was. How did you get the eBay label page to come up?
