I listed a macbook and stated twice in the description that the unit is missing the battery and adapter, and the buyer opened a SNAD case
He listed his reason as "item is missing the adapter and battery"
ebay phone support is telling me to accept the return even though my description says no returns. Anyone have anything like this happen?

What C/S is telling you is that 'No Returns' means nothing in a SNAD case. It's best to approve it, send a return label and only refund when the macbook gets back to you . Get your item back to resell. For what it's worth, I find that if something sells once, it will again. Hopefully, your next buyer is your good buyer. Sorry this is happening to you.

Even though you say "no returns" EBAY has money back guarantee if customer claims "not as described, defective, counterfeit". You must accept return otherwise EBAY will just refund customer (with your money) and tell customer to keep the item.

As the other person said accept the return. Plus put the buyer on your blocked bidder/buyer list so if you ever have something else to sell they won't be able to bid or buy from you again. And I hope you do get it back, it's not just phone callers who scam people.

This is the item number - the ad says twice there is no battery or power adapter. ANd his entire case says "I want to return it because there's no power adapter or battery" - shouldn't this be a slam dunk easy case for ebay to close in my favor?

If you weren't going to provide a battery, you shouldn't have shown it working in the photos.
If you want it back before refunding, you need to accept the return and pay return shipping.

I would actually call again and see if you can get a CS who knows what they're doing. Yes, in most cases we just have to accept the return, but this is not a he said/she said situation - it's clearly stated. I would do so quickly, though, as you absolutely don't want to leave this case hanging and have eBay 'step in' - IMHO, because of the obviousness of the situation, it's worth at least another try.

Ken - come on now items are sold all the time without batteries, and I stated TWICE in the ad there is no battery. not only that USPS does not allow lithium batteries to travel through the mail, is this what I'm working with here?

...as already everyones told you to accept the return but make sure you get back your Macbook first before issue the refund...
...you only lose part of your money as buying return shipping label for buyer but you won't lose Final Value Fee because eBay will credit back to you...
...if you don't accept the return, you will lose everything (money and your laptop), plus getting a negative mark on your selling records...
...we are dealing with a new generation...(you can figure out the rest up to your reference...)

eBay won't back you up for buyer stupidity, especially as a part time seller. They actually punish you for the buyers actions, although less in your case than us more active sellers.

They have less to lose being a casual seller. They could try fighting it if they don't mind risking losing the item and the money. I'm not aware of this being winnable anymore though. I just went through a similar style of false claim. Luckily I have TRS protections since they just threw the item in the box to return it.

Try putting that information in your title.

I think you should fight like heck and stand on principle on this! The listing was clear and you had a 'no returns' policy!!!!!
After all what is the worst that can happen? eBay could refund the buyer and NOT require the buyer to return the item to you. I mean what are a seller's obligations when "returns happen?" The rules are here:
Handling return request as a Seller
Look, I was just like you with a 'no returns' policy until I got run over by the Money Back Guarantee. Then I had to swallow a tough pill and accept that returns are part of retail selling. It is the cross all of us sellers have to bear. Doesn't matter if your buyer is a scammer or and idiot, we have to follow the "rules" set out in the MBG.
Look, maybe this buyer is a scammer. There are a lot of them in the electronics section. They target sellers with "no returns" policies because they know that 90% of the time they can get the seller so upset and the seller is ignorant of the MBG. How this works is that the seller gets EMOTIONAL, "stands of principle" and refuses to send a return label. The buyers know that per 'the rules' a seller has 3-business days to act on a return and IF the seller fails to act, the the buyer asks eBay to "step in." Then the eBay Bots will decide the case. Often when the Bots see that a seller has a "no returns" policy, the Bots will just go ahead and issue a full refund to the buyer and NOT require the buyer to return the item to you.
This is what is known as a MAXIMUM LOSS - lose item and lose all of the money. So hey, it is a choice you can make. What I have learned while selling here is that when a return happens, the seller is going to lose money. How much money I lose as a seller depends on the actions I take or do not take.
Oh I get it! This is a shock. eBay makes it look easy to sell your "stuff" here. Unfortunately the devil is in the details. We all agreed to those "details" when we signed up to sell here.
So now you have a business decision to make. Will you accept the return, issue a return shipping label and refund when the item comes back to you? or will you let the buyer scam you over an emotional response and "sticking to your principles' over a 'no returns' policy?
There is no right answer, only what works for you. Good luck.

Just an update, I had to call in 4 times, and get 4 different supervisors, but finally got one that was able to go in and close this return in my favor. It looks like they wont be able to leave feedback either.
A seller finally won one.
