ebay Global shipping program questions

HI i bought an item with GSP from UK to EU. Seller already sent the item and got delivered to ebay address. How long does it take for ebay to ship it? Also in listing said  its an "expedited service", what company is used (DHL/UPS/FEDEX/TNT)? Also for an expedited service, 20days estimate seems a bit excessive. is this normal?  Also in order details shows as "Other Courier 3 days" as postal service.

Anyone who has more information/experience regarding GSP would be appreciated

Expedited is how the seller ships it to the the shipping center. Once it is there it takes eBay a couple of days to a week to process it. You'll get a tracking number when it leaves the shipping center and be able to tell who they're using. Sometimes the carrier changes along the way and when it does you'll get a new tracking number.

Thank you for your reply. since im paying premium price for "expedited" to my country as listing shows i would expect to ship it by express apart from seller2ebay method. any listing i find with GSP is minimum ~30euro and the one i have now i paid 60 euro shipping so i hope is not normal post and not change carriers. Its not from asia to justify the carriers change

Expedited is how the seller ships it to the the shipping center

The buyer doesn't see which service the seller is using to ship the item to the GSP center.  All GSP listings in the UK show buyers "expedited delivery to ..." and all GSP listings from the US show buyers "Priority International Shipping".  In both cases, neither of them relate to the length of time for shipping or the method used by the seller or the gsp.  They are just generic terms.

GSP  starting from UK is bulls**t, I'm in US east coast and purchased some books from UK via GSP, oftern a book weighting 1-2 pound and with price 10-20 GBP costs about 40GBP to ship, even it claims to be "expedited shipping", the actually shipping time from book arriving UK processing center to my hand is about 10 days (the whole process is 10-14 days) - in US GSP uses cheap shipping partners like pitney bowes or Newgistics, while shipping directly from UK post office cost half the price and 2 times faster, and some large book dealers can even provide free shipping from UK to US, so I guess unreasonably high GSP postage is just one way for ebay to make money.

However GSP is not always without merits, it you ship heavier books or expensive ones (like > 10 pounds and > 300GBP), the cost just marginally higher but it uses DHL/UPS as shipping partner from UK process center to oversea destinations, which is much faster.

In short for cheap books or small weights item, GSP should be avoided

just got an update today that it was shipped with dhl express. for some reason DHL is the slowest. according to their estimate it will arrive in 5d. i had UPS super saver come in 1 day, tnt/fedex in 2d. Really strange what routes they take but when i wanted to ship something with them their option was always 2 days either by end of day or at noon. taking around 10-12 days its not ideal when royal mail standard could arrived at 7d. Anyway glad to have the number and know how it will arrive
