eBay under $20 shipping odd issue

I have not seen this before. I mailed a shipment on the 11th of August, and it showed up in my mailbox with no indication of why. Tracking still shows it at the sorting center, in transit. They didn't mark it with a return to sender or lack of postage. 

 

Am I out the shipping, and I pay to ship it again?

If the label is still just as you sent it, I'd take it to the PO and ask if there's any reason not to just send it on it's way. While  there, they can see the tracking and also check that it's a valid address.

See above answer. I have occasionally had weird glitches like this, where there is no apparent reason for the package to come back. I bring it back to the PO, explain the problem (in one case I had to verify with the buyer that his address was actually correct, and told the PO that), and they generally agree to put the package through again at no additional charge.

I agree with guys(gals). Should be free to resend. Imagine me getting something back from the post office and they didn't recognize the country I mailed my item to? Happened twice. Cost me nothing to remail and they made their way to buyers. Might notify buyer about the delay ASAP. Maybe send a photo to buyer as well. Item usually should have label or writing on it and such. I have done this many times...especially during Covid when many countries were closed for mail.

Well, I posted a question, and thank you for your responses; I did not see or receive a notification, so apologies for my delayed response. 

I took it to the post office, and they told me they had no idea why it had returned to me but did not let me retry it without paying again. I have submitted a complaint to the postmaster with the details. 

Unfortunately, my local post office does not have friendly service and refuses to take prepaid packages at the counter. I started using another post office, and I have had better luck with them, and none of my packages have gone missing using the new location.  This has been noted in my letter to the postmaster as well.
