My buyer is returning 2 items he bought from me, worth approx. $100. It is being tracked by USPS. For 5 days or so after it arrived at a postal sorting center in California, it stopped tracking. Finally today, it came alive again and say that the parcel has been delayed, but iis on its' way. Meanwhile, eBay keeps sending me emails about refunding the buyer. Today on eBay, the bar showing the status of the parcel is showing Delivered ... which is abjectly NOT TRUE! Even USPS tracking shows differently, and they ought to know. Now, eBay sent me an email saying they know the returned items have been delivered and they're giving me until Dec. 10th to refund the buyer. Are they nuts? Where are they getting this info? This might be their guess-timated time of arrival, but the package did not arrive yet. Today is the 8th, the package is just working it's way out of California, on its' way to MInnesota and why is eBay announcing that the package was delivered, when it absolutely was not. It's been missing for almost a week, and was just located and is on its' way, but I do not have it. **bleep** eBay????????? Stop assuming! Check the damned tracking number on a USPS website. You have it. Why are you making up baloney and about to yank $100 out of my bank account in two days before I've even received the return?!

The return system is all automated on eBay. Makes no difference if your item stopped in another state, or how long it is taking to get to you. It's all about the tracking. Since you are saying the tracking doesn't show delivered, that is what you need to focus on, not whether or not you actually received it. Again, it's all automated and no one individual is looking at your case.
You should contact customer service by sending a private message on social media. You leave a message and an eBay employee will get back to you as soon as possible. To speed things up you can leave your registered account information in the PRIVATE message: Full name, address, phone number, email address, user ID, and a brief explanation of your problem. Only focus on what the tracking says not on whether you received the item or that the case says it was delivered.

BE PROACTIVE. As mentioned above get ahold of eBay and, if you can, send a screen shot of the USPS site showing that it has NOT been delivered. eBay is not a mind reader. You MUST bring any discrepancy to their attention.

They probably figured they would be safe eliminating a couple characters and just searching for D when checking the status of the tracking.
