eBay return shipping label

I bought an item for over $1600.00 but when the item arrived it was missing a part.  I contacted seller to do return but she refused so I had eBay intervene.  Ebay sided with me and provided a prepaid return shipping label.  I printed it out and shipped the package back to seller.  I just tracked the package and it was supposed to be delivered yesterday 07/25/2020, but instead it said that the package was return to post office for address verification because of an incomplete address.  It says my package will go out for deliver the next business day if address can be verified.  

Has this happened to anyone and will I be protected if the item gets return to me?

You may be jumping ahead of yourself a bit. Today is Sunday so wait this out to see what wort of movement the package gets in the next few days. If eBay provided you with the return label then it shouldn't be an issue as you did what you were supposed to do. Might be a case of the seller refusing the package hoping it will resolve in their favor, which will end up in your favor. 

This was a large amount so the seller thinks they can somehow "save" this return but they will discover that's not going to happen. Stay vigilant and try to remain calm. You have a MBG from eBay, the odds are forever in your favor here. Best of luck to you....

eBay considers your return Delivered on Jul 25. Sellers cannot avoid a refund by preventing the delivery of the return.

And in your case, eBay will force the refund at the moment of the assumed delivery. But you don't have a button to ask eBay to step in again. Instead @xoxosue send a private message with your name, email, and zip code to eBay at Facebook or Twinkle and simply say please escalate my return to get your refund.
