First I'd like to say I've been selling for over 20 years on eBay. I have shipped 10s of thousands of items via eBay label, just so you know that I know what I'm doing.
I have attached copies of the order & the shipping label; with the customer information deleted.
On Monday the shipping label eBay printed has a completely different tracking then what is in eBay.
My postal carrier gave it back to me because the barcode and tracking number were invalid. He scan my packages during pick up. I told him I would check on the number.
It isn't even close to being the right tracking number. The name and address are both correct.
I am hoping this is some Monday the 13th Fluke. Anybody else ever have this happen?
I Hope You & Yours Are Staying Health!
Sincerely,
Bruce "ImaPaqRat" Fisher

But its fine to mail it where a non-human routes it, as the bar code is the 9400...8906 going to zip code 01013.

No, the barcode was wrong as well. The postal carrier tried to scan the barcode, then entered the tracking number manually. Neither worked.
Hmmm . . . but know I wondering how you figured out the zipcode.

I have never seen that happen.
Can you reprint the label?

We are experiencing the same issue. If anyone know how to fix this - please share

You can reprint. But it’s a pain - especially if you have a large print.

Since this was posted April 14th I assume you've resolved it by now. Were you able to get the package out with the original label or did you have to void it and buy a new one @imapaqrat?

I had to void the original label and buy a new one. eBay customer support was absolutely useless. Their email support isn't even real email. Limited to xxx characters and no way to attach photos or documents. It's like eBay took a giant leap backward to 1990.
I am so embarrassed for eBay. They are a tech based company and they don't know how to use computer telephony tools to create virtual customer support bullpens? Seriously, IMHO this is just eBay's way of cutting customer support cost and claiming it is for safety.

You should go to your shipping labels page and void the label if it is still possible to void. I have never seen a USPS tracking number start with the number 8 it has always been 9. From time to time I have noticed on the orders page the tracking number is different from the actual number that come up when you click to check the tracking. That is why I always click to view the tracking before copying and past it into my confirmation message I send my buyers after their item has shipped. If you can not void the label then you may want to contact eBay and request a credit for the label. In the mean time you will have to purchase a new label to ship the item to your buyer.

I guess a quick check before placing the label on the box and going to the post office would be to pull up USPS.com and manual enter and check the tracking. Even though there will be little to no results other than label purchased and created, if the number on the label is wrong you would think their site would tell you that.
This is what I got when I entered the bad tracking number into their site.

I've had the same issue, with several buyers asking when I'm going to ship their items. I have daily pickup, so I initially assumed the post office was late scanning them, but further investigation found that the tracking number in eBay was completely different from that on the package.
