Was talking to my P.O. window clerk and she stated they had received a memo from HQ concerning eBay Standard envelope. They have been running them in Automation with the First Class letters (that's where the limited scanning is done, in the Bar Code & QAR) however they have been jamming the machines (cardboard mailer). They want to throw them by hand & if needed return to the mailer for additional postage. Anybody have additional info (eBay) pls post.

The eBay document with user terms seems to exclude nonmachinable envelopes, such as those that are "too rigid."

Good idea, but as is typical for eBay, poorly executed. Sellers don't understand that in order for it to be run through automated equipment, it must conform to the post office's standards. That means it must be flexible, a standard size, not more than 1/4" thick, and be of uniform thickness overall. Stiff and bumpy envelopes don't get scanned, so you can't track them.
