Okay, so what is the deal with the disproportionate number of" lost" or "not received" items? It seems to happen at a much higher rate than any other shipping method and I'm getting really sick of having to refund buyers for something that is not my fault. I'm almost thinking that the postal worker is stealing the trading cards that are in the envelope.
Is it because the ESUS tracking number is garbage? I can't open a claim with USPS because they want a legit tracking number. When I spoke with eBay help on the phone they told me to go to a particular website to plug in the eBay shipping number and it tells you the postal service tracking number, which worked, but when you take the postal service tracking number over to USPS.com they don't recognize it!
So frustrated.

I've been with the PO for 22 years, and postcards are not separated from letters. We used to separate Netflix from other mail but that ended over 5 years ago. Now they even go through the DPS machines.

You choose to use this unreliable method of shipping, so it is your fault or rather you are responsible for getting the item to the buyer. Choose another method of shipping.

So a guy selling a $5 card is supposed to use a $3.50 shipping method? Yeah, good luck doing that when 10 other sellers use the $0.57 ebay standard envelope.

I've shipped hundreds of cards with Ebay standard, most with no problems. But when one does get "lost" it has always been a card that is $10 or more. I've noticed that a fair number of standard envelopes don't show a delivery date, so I think if its a card under $3 the buyer doesn't even bother to complain. Now I've ordered cards from others with standard envelope and sometimes they show up even though the tracking doesn't show as such, so I think occasionally some buyers file a dispute even if they received the card.

As a stamp seller I use this service about 400 times every month without issue.

I seriously doubt that the problem is with the mail carriers. Risking up to 5 years in federal prison over low end sports cards would be someone who needs to spend some time in jail. Mail theft and mishandling will be something you will always see from time to time with an operation this big. Report any suspicious activity so it can be investigated but don't blame someone without any proof. I spent nearly 10 years with USPS and most of the problems have more to do with the packaging not being in compliance than anything else. I would like to see how you are sending these to have had so many problems.

Yeah, but that still leaves some dude running around with a bunch of autograph rookie cards
Would you send a card to PSA to get graded using a stamp? No.
