Hi everyone,
We recently noticed that most of our shipments using the eBay Standard Envelope service have had tracking issues. Either no tracking updates appear after drop-off, or the tracking stops updating entirely. We rarely had problems before, but all orders shipped after February 10th, 2025, seem affected. Over the past two days, we’ve received multiple complaints from buyers, so we investigated the issue and found a solution.
This method has allowed us to track shipments accurately and resolve buyer concerns.
Some buyers may claim they never received their item based on the ESUS tracking number, which does not update correctly. In fact, we had a case where a customer received the item but falsely claimed they never got it. Always check the Pitney Bowes tracking site before assuming a lost package.
Hope this helps! Let’s keep the community informed.
Good luck, everyone!

I've been freaking out for several days, since I don't have a single ESE shipped after Feb 10 with a single scan. I'm so thankful that you found the solution that you did, and I'm so frustrated eBay didn't catch this and alert us to it. This is going to invite so many INR claims, and cause service metric problems too.

Thanks for posting this. I used that link with an INR yesterday morning. They said they didn't get their item and while eBay showed no tracking updates, the pitney bowes link showed a delivery on 2/15. No more responses after I replied with the link so hopefully that's a good thing. What's really frustrating me is I've got an accumulation of payouts adding up and since I'm not getting delivery scans, eBay has been holding my funds for over a week now. 13/14 orders on hold. Really hope they fix this soon

Yeah I shipped out like 20 envelopes this past week and none of them have updated. I REALLY wish they would somehow allow USPS post offices to scan the envelopes for proof of drop off. The no updates gives scammers a way to get free stuff by claiming they never received it. Extremely annoying and I wish Ebay would do something about it...

Somebody posted on another thread about this same topic that they spoke to someone at Ebay and said they were told that Ebay & USPS are no longer under contract for ESE and that's why no tracking is coming in through Ebay anymore, but ESE can be tracked through other tracking apps. I can't remember which ones off the top of my head, but the tracking is showing up on other postal tracking platforms. I'm sure if you browse these forums you will be able to find them in other discusssions as I have seen people also say where they can track them. Wether what this other person said about USPS & Ebay no longer having a contract is true or not, I don't know, but the ESE envelopes do still work, just not being tracked on Ebay. Ebay appears to not be addressing the issue publicly, but I can guarantee they know exactly what is going on.

eBay posted an announcement here.
"We are aware of an issue with eBay Standard Envelope shipments not displaying tracking events on eBay. We are working to resolve this issue and are in the process of updating the display of tracking events for the impacted shipments.
If your shipment is impacted and you have an Item Not Received claim due to this issue, your item will be eligible for the included shipment protection. Additionally, eBay will automatically protect your service metrics for Item Not Received cases."
