I have a no returns policy on my items, because there is never any legitimate reason to return them. Despite that, I have had several unfair returns, some as many as 3 weeks after the sale, because all the buyer has to do is check, "Doesn't Seem Authentic" (which we both know is a lie)... and boom, despite being a long time seller (since 1998) with perfect feedback, suddenly I "owe" eBay the money that they have taken from my account, no questions asked, and I'm forced to accept a return AND pay the buyer's shipping. That's bad enough, but on a recent sale, which was an international sale, I was forced to accept the return, pay for their international shipping, and when I finally received the return package the item, an antique photo, had been replaced with a cheap printout. So I am out the original $300 item and had to pay $15.00 return shipping on top of that. How is that fair? I have opened my own webstore and after two decades on eBay, and fees paid into the six-figures, I will be leaving.

Your poor analogy doesn't change the fact that essentially 100% of the times I have been scammed have been via eBay sales, despite accounting for only about 20% of my total sales. Also, 12.55% (including charging sellers 12.55 on the TAX the BUYER is paying) is exorbitant and monopolistic.

If you think that'll stop the scammers, it won't.

i've been selling for 25 years, off and on ebay, and i bet 99.9% of the scams that have happened to me have occurred on ebay, with ebay doing everything they can to help the scammer. so yeah it'll help. plus i won't have to pay these highway robbery fees.

I’ve never been robbed on the highway, but something tells me that they would demand more than 13% of what I had on me. MAYBE they would be that nice in Canada, but not where I live.

No because at this point I am using eBay to lead buyers to my website, and it's working very well (just made over $6000 in sales yesterday there, that would have otherwise been made here, minus $800 in fees, lol). The ultimate goal is to have as many listings up on eBay while selling as little here as possible.

It’s great to diversify your sales in other places. Yes you could be saving some fees by doing that and may come out better for it. You can have more control over your returns if you are setting the rules. If this would work better for you. My hope is that you remain very successful. Sorry to se you go.
