eBay Forced Return

Anonymous
Not applicable

I would strongly advise against using eBay for buying and selling. You aren't able to delete payment methods you have on file.  eBay forced a return of an item I sold. The person returning the item described it differently than what was shipped. They then sent the item to an address I no longer live at. If your address changes you will have to update your address on eBay in 2 or 3 different places. Also, do you like it when companies charge your saved banking information without your consent? I don't. You can sell in many other places that do not charge you as many fees. eBay will take a large portion of the earnings you make from selling and has executive control over whether the customer can return an item or not. I was charged $65 for the return without my knowledge or consent, paid for shipping, and did not receive the returned item.

What was eBay's response to all of that? They sent me links to change my address. Your address is saved in multiple locations. Changing your home address does not change your billing address or the address for items sold/returned.

eBay Forced Return

Sorry, but you gave consent when you listed the item and you agreed to their terms.

Have A Great Day.

"...Also, do you like it when companies charge your saved banking information without your consent..."

1. You gave them consent when you listed under the terms of their agreement

2. So, if they contacted you and asked you for the funds to cover your return, you would comply? That would be hard to do since you apparently were trying to delete your funding source. (only if they asked nicely maybe)

3. Sorry, but 13.00% is not a very large portion to get the exposure.

4. The return 'request' was made within 3 days? If not, you have recourse......

Sounds like you didn't refund the buyer so eBay does it for you.

eBay sends emails and such what you are needed to do. You do nothing...eBay handles it.

And you forgot to change your address....When people move they need to change their address on everything. No one does it for you.
