yeah...………….I thought I would put this out there
I get my fair share of returns...…….maybe 20 a year
my flat shipping rate in the USA is only $5...…………….most of my labels are for 6-8 ounces and cost me $3.50
the automated return label system gets my package back to me for $3.50.............i think its peanuts
where am I going with this you ask............
when the buyer chooses "does not fit" I do not have to return the original shipping
i like to do it anyway............only cost me $5 and I tend to think doing the unexpected is rewarded with a customer who will come back for more
by the way...………....its not always easy to tell what my parts fit,it came back without a trace of use or installation damage.
any thoughts on doing this

It depends on the cost of the item, cost of shipping, my cost, and the buyer's attitude.

Do the same thing. Really can't say I have had more than 5 or 6 returns out of 1537 shipments since 2010. Most are for can't fit issues (clothing items) and only one item for Not As Described.
Only once battled with a buyer that requested to return an item I just say "Return for Refund". I won the battle in the court of eBay.

Refunding when not necessary is a poor business practice. Exactly how many of these buyers have returned for more purchases? Did they return those new purchases also?
