can i use priority boxes for ebay first class international shipping?

you should not even try to do that...........international priority is expensive

plain brown boxes are great for 1st class international or a couple of bubble mailers stacked inside of each other

priority boxes are not for 1st class no matter where your are sending them

If you use priority mail boxes, then the shipment needs to be priority mail.

I'm not trying to trick them or do anything wrong. It's just that when I purchased the ebay first class international shipping label at the price they determined a priority label printed for it to go to their hub first. So therefore I thought I could possibly use the priority box I had already packed it in prior to the sale. I still paid the international rate.

That does happen when you ship international. The first leg may come up as priority as first class can only be up to 15.9 ounces, but do not use a priority mail box or else they will charge for interational priority mail for that second leg and that will come out of your funds.

That's an interesting question. I don't know the answer but suspect that using a priority box, if in fact the label to KY is priority, may be ok. After KY, I am pretty sure everything gets relabeled as there are customs declarations, etc.

This would be a great question for the Wed afternoon community chat with eBay.

No they will then charge for priority international and that be expensive;

Repack the item into a different box.

I have used eBay international shipping quite a bit.

The Global Shipping Program or the International Standard Shipping offered by eBay, it is eBay who decides how to get the item to their location.

In the US a First Class package has to be under 16 ounces.  If your inputs into your listings reflects this then eBay will want you to ship to them by First Class.

If your inputs reflect over a pound then eBay will have the package sent to them by Priority Mail.

First Class International is a different category of mail and can be up to 4 pounds.  If you were shipping the International Package yourself then no, you would not use a Priority Box.

If you are shipping using one of eBay's services then you are only shipping within the US and would use the Label and box for the service eBay selected for you.

If you sent it to eBay I do not think they will use USPS to send it to the destination country?  You could have done that yourself.
