Wrong item shipped, received and returned

Wrong item was shipped and received. I returned the item according to directions but was required to pay return shipping.  I sent seller a note, but have heard nothing.  Is this the way Ebay works---a penalty to buyer for seller mistakes?

Did you file a case through Ebay? If you did, the seller would have been required to pay return shipping. If you filed through Paypal, they require the buyer to pay return shipping no matter the reason.

Have you ever read the money back guarantee? It's on practically every item sold on Ebay.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

You should have filed an item not as described case with Ebay.  You have thirty days after delivery to do so.  The seller would have been required to send you a return label, and you would have been refunded for the purchase price and original shipping.

You might want to spend a few minutes reading about the Buyer Protection Policies.  As previously stated, the Ebay MBG icon is on every page, and it says, get the item you ordered or your money back.  Includes purchase price and original shipping.

If it was outside the thirty days Ebay allows, then you file with Paypal, but they required the buyer to pay return shipping.

We can probably help you with this issue, but we need you to participate with the thread and answer a couple questions before we can advise you on how to get your money back.  Your answers will help us give you answers.

Did you file a claim with Ebay?

Did you ship the item back with tracking?

What instructions were there in the package you received?
