Worst customer service ever and I Really need help with a refund that won't go through

I have reached out to eBay customer service for help on this. I have received four phone calls. Every time I answer nobody is on the other end of the phone and I keep saying 'hello are you there?' and I get no response back on the other end. Today is my last day to refund a buyer. I have been trying to issue this refund since 11/27 daily. I have spent countless hours trying to figure it out so it will not be late. Every time I click on the issue refund button through eBay it tells me "There was a problem issuing this refund.

To refund your buyer, please try again later. If you're still having trouble, ask us to step in and help."

I can't figure it out. I transferred money 12/27 to my PayPal which is also connected to my checking but PayPal gives me an error when trying to refund it on there as well saying there are no funds in the account (funds were transferred and my bank processed it days ago but PayPal says estimated arrival is 12/5). My payment methods on eBay are all correct. I am dealing with a lot of other stuff outside of this, a sick dog and many other urgent things I will not get into and I am insanely stressed and this is just one thing I did not need this week that should be so much easier to fix than eBay is making it right now. I desperately need to get this refund issued and eBay keeps giving me error messages. At this point I never want to use eBay again because this has been so difficult and support is non existent when I just want to get a $31 refund processed.  I am desperate for help/advice on how to get eBays site to actually work and get this refund issued as I have already wasted a lot of time on this searching for answers and I can't find the solution anywhere. It is absolutely unacceptable for customer service to be this bad when I am trying to do right by getting my buyer their refund.

Every time I click on the issue refund button through eBay it tells me "There was a problem issuing this refund.

Are you asking eBay to call you back @kimbeat instead of waiting on hold to talk to eBay? If you don't have any money, eBay can't help anyway, even if you can reach out all the way and get your hands on eBay.

 

But don't worry, take care of the dog. Even if PayPal does not have any money by 12/5, eBay will refund your buyer for you, and then you can repay eBay, no problem.

No lol that’s not what’s going on. Money is not the issue I’m having. I have far more than enough to cover the refund. I have both my bank account and PayPal linked on eBay and i just want the refund to process. The issue is that eBay keeps saying there’s an error when I click the button to refund with no explanation why. The site is not working and it seems to be a technical error. I’m frustrated because I’ve spent so much time trying to get this issue resolved (days now) when my time could be put towards better important things I have going and need to focus on at the moment. Others have had the same issue too, it doesn’t appear to just be me. I had eBay call me because the wait times were long. They called four times today and every time I pick up and answer my phone nobody is even on the other line. I can hear slight static in the background and I say hello and nobody talks. It’s bizarre. But I have plenty of money to cover the refund. That part is not the issue.

Have you tried calling Paypal?  Sometimes they can get around the "error" and make the refund from their end.

When eBay called you did you select the option for them to call you. If so when you receive the call usually you have to push 1 to let their automated system know you are on the line.

 

If you are having issues with them calling you it may be better to chose the option to call them. You really need to talk to them to get this issue straightened out before the clock runs out. If they have to step due to the clock running out in it will be viewed as you ignored the buyer.

Perhaps it is a browser issue. Try another browser then another device if the problem persist.

If the money you transferred to your Pay Pal won't credit until 12/5, you'll have to wait until then.

Just like I told you on your thread under "Technical Issues", Ebay won't help you with this.  The only way to get it resolved is to try to work through PayPal or to get funds into your account.  I, too, have my bank account linked to PayPal and all my refunds have ALWAYS been e-checks against my bank account until this last one when PayPal stopped pulling from my bank account and made me fund the PP account to refund, which I did with a couple of sales coming in.

 

Repeat:  Ebay will NOT help you on this one.  You have to work through Paypal.

I am having the exact same issue at the moment. Buyer purchase an item that was brand new sealed in it's package and is saying that the item inside is incorrect and wants her money back. I don't want to deal with the issue so I tried to refund and ebay is giving me the same error message. I read somewhere that if your don't refund the buyer they will automatically do it for you, send the buyer a label to return your item and charge you in the invoice they send monthly.

I am just leaving it alone and see how it ebay works it out. Im not going to waste time or stress about it, they have plenty of time to figure it out themselves.

You're getting that message because you don't have money in your PP account. Ebay will "fix" it for you by escalating the claim, refunding the buyer, and putting a defect on your account.

1.  Is this a typo?  You wrote:  " I transferred money 12/27 to my PayPal"  or did you set a transfer to be effective later this month?

2.  If  you transferred funds on 11/27 was it after your banks normal working hours?

3.  Transfers/Deposits at our bank used to be be almost real time during normal business hour.  Ours are now delayed.

4.  Your initial post was written on 12/03.  From the 11/27 to 12/3 there was a holiday and a Sunday from the available  normal business hour.  My guess says PayPal has not  had enough time to  receive the  funds from your  bank and verify the funds are available to put them on hold at your bank so they (PayPal is secured).  Not all banks operate in the  same many this is why  PayPal says that an eCheck can take up to 6 or 8  business days to  get cleared.

5.  When you call eBay CS don't opt for teh  call me back option simply just wait on hold for teh next available.

Ebay no longer does refunds.  You have to transfer funds into paypal and refund that way which can take 7-9 days.  I'm closing my ebay seller account.  I'm done.  I can't issue any refunds.  Ebay has gone insane.
