With Free Returns what should I do with my build your own bundle listing Suggestions?

Ok this is a tough one.  We've had a popular listing for a long time.  It lets people build a bundle for different waterbed mattresses and they can add things like liners, heaters, and mattress pads.  All of these mattresses come in different sized boxes and sometimes the bundles have to be put into 2 boxes.  This has never been an issue and we have over 100 watchers on this listing.  We ship this out for free.  I have the default set to the largest box and weight.  So if someone tried to return a order and they only had a free flow mattress that could be returned for less than $15.00.  We have it set up for Fed Ex and sometimes we send it out priority if it will go.  But if the box weighs 50 pounds for one of the heavier mattresses it cost us about 40.00 to send that out.  I'm worried about the generated label that eBay would generate for the return.  Instead of costing 12.95 it would bill us for $40.00 and even more if that was sent to hawaii or alaska.  Then it would bill us $105.00 for a $63.00 mattress.  So should I take down my popular listing and change it or just maybe don't do the free returns so I have some control and can hopefully send a label if needed to the customer.  I could take out hawaii and Alaska that would help so we can't get dinged that way.   We have never had a return on this in the past but with the different weights I could see it as a potential future issue.

Never mind we just deleted the listing.  I did a review and they only buy free flows and we have those listed anyway with the correct weights.

@waterbed_bigfoot

I know you have marked this question as solved, but have some info you may find helpful for future reference. Not for bundles, but for returns in general.

If you want to issue your own return labels, go to your seller return preferences page and enable the ability to issue your own RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) numbers.

That way, when you get a return request, the request won't be automatically accepted and processed by ebay. You can then issue your own RMA number and also issue your own return label.

I'm pretty sure a blue (ebay employee) stated in one of the weekly chats that once a return request comes in, you will have 2 days to issue the RMA and label.

I don't have a link handy, but maybe one of the board link wizards will pop in with a link.
