Will eBay recognize the statement by USPS and delivery times?

USPS has come out and stated something we already knew, First Class and Priority delivery times will be extended.  This has already been in effect as Seller would agree.  Here is the problem:  You can't trust eBay to be smart enough to accept the USPS statement.  eBay will continue to hold Sellers to unreasonable delivery times in large parts of the country.  eBay will state that the delivery times they send to the Buyer are what they are getting from USPS.  Yes that may be true however to date the Post Office has not come out and made a firm statement about the self inflected delivery delays.   In their statement they basically say it is cost cutting measures to increase the long term of the Postal Service.  Now comes the eBay side of this problem.  Knowing this is an issue now eBay will, like most problems eBay addresses, take a good year to revise eBay policy with regard to delivery time changes.  In the mean time Sellers will be receiving defects for non delivery, have to refund Buyer without reason.  lose product because it finally gets delivered after a refund was issued.  Anyone have thoughts on how we can inform eBay that they need to react to this problem

Load up the Wednesday chat with this topic - ask specific questions about HOW this will be addressed.  AFAIK, that's the quickest way to get the foot in the door.

Well I can't speak as to what you see on your screen, but on my screen they have doing it for quite a while.

I made a sale 10/1 going from Nevada to Kansas by first class mail  and when I go to print the label eBay is showing an estimated delivery date of 10/15.

I also have a priority mail going from Nevada to California and they are showing 10/14.

And priority Nevada to Florida showing 10/18.

Is that what you meant?

ebay work hand in hand with the USPS..especially Pitney Bowes who runs  the show for USPS and Ebay

in the past when there are problems with estimates/guesses/anecdotal tales of ice covered streets, the threats of lateness on your permanent record would be dialed back a bit

ebay know how long it takes to ship form New York to California because its done all day log on ebays system

ebay know all your shipping moves if you use ebay shipping

I am a drop and go type seller.in the bin and out the door with no scans or waiting in line

this method is not for many sellers . each has its own merits

I guess what I am trying to say is that I have literally had dozens of lateness problems  descored over a 90 day period

late shipping/ late arrival all sounds the same. I have 1 day handling and ebay has always taken care of the late stuff for me.My packages lay around wiht no scans here and there for 4=5 days when its busy.I only use 1st class with USPS

whe  look at my performance reocrd ther are mauybe 40-50 round dots that change color when  you are forgiven.the are descored and dont matter anymore

al of this is automatic and it just works in the background

ebay knows all when it comes to slow or fast  shipping.they have all the data and use it to help sellers rather than hinder them

You are correct, should have been clear about when this all started.  We experienced the delays at least six months ago and have, like many other, received defects because of the delays.  The entire eBay system is how they can take fees from sellers and hand out penalties.  eBay has completely forgotten who pays their wages.  Its not the chicken or egg theory,  without Seller there is no eBay.  I have paid for inventory on the shelf to the tune of 2.5mil.  without that product Buyers are not required.   Our current business volume is about the same.  There was a time when all of our business was done on eBay, no longer.  We currently do 20% or less on eBay and are working to get off.  So that being said, do I really need eBay,  no.  We are doing fine on other platforms that are responsive and do appreciate the work we do.  I did not begin selling on eBay for them to become a 15-20% partner.  If you calculate the FVF you are being charged on shipping and sales tax that is the real bite you are paying.  The eBay management for the past  10 years has been poor.  The focus is only on fee collection not building sales volume.  People, don't listen to what eBay tells you, look at what they do.  This shipping delivery issue is huge.  This issue can cause you to lose your rating as a Seller.  eBay needs to notice and take action now.  This issue is a now not a later.  The Post Office is not going to improve.  It is run like eBay, with no real management skills at the top and making a decision is something for someone else to make.

First of all, ebay would have to care about sellers. Do you think they do?

No its clear they do not.  However if all Seller took a week off and like went on vacation with their listings eBay might take note.
