Why is my RETURN ADDRESS on my SHIPPING LABELS switching?

Ok...

For the last few months I have had my return address as follows:

AJ S (ajszcz740)

my address

Last week I had to provide a return label for a return request, I provided my return label and my username from the return address for whatever reason.

So now I went back into the settings just now and realized it left my username off. So for the last week or so, my return address was listed in my settings as having NO username until I just fixed it right now... 

So, in that week's time, with my settings having no username in the return address, why has it been flipping back and forth as follows...

Is there some pre-set setting in each listing to use a certain version of your return address that I am unaware of? Does it use the "return address" on file at the time of the listing going active, and not update until you revise your listing or have it roll over that it pulls and saves new info? This is super weird 🙄

I use my username with my name so people can identify who shipped them the item.

Yeah, the whole conundrum here, is how and why my labels showed one version of my return address last night, and a different one this morning. Might I add, I printed 2 labels last night and 2 this morning. The 2 last night were identical and the 2 this morning were identical. 

So it statistically lowers the odds that it is an issue of what my return address was listed as at the time I created the listings... but I'm not ruling that out. The statistics though of having 2 sales listed before some change printed at same time and 2 sales listed after some change printed at same time are just lower odds than 1 sale listed before and 1 sale listed after.

That's what I'm curious to answer...

On the create label page at the upper right click on edit your return address.  What name shows up there?  Are there more than one in the drop down menu?

@ajs_coins_and_alchemy  Sorry, I was super busy IRL & have been off the boards for a week.  I also use my user name in my address, but IDK that I can offer much help this time around.  I am no returns & rarely process one, so I not too familiar with it, other than knowing there's about 5 or 6 different addresses to set up in your personal preferences. 

Honestly, my first thought looking at this is, was it Thursday?  Then I looked at the posting date & it WAS Thursday.  It may have just been the typical Thursday shenanigans, as Thurs is update night for eBay.  Also, I had some odd Thursday-like glitches last week on Tues/Wed & Thursday, that all resolved after the Thurs updates.   Well, almost all resolved.  They removed one of my most used I/S's in clothing, but I suspect that was an intentional change.  A poor one, but likely intentional.   If this seems to have gone away & is back to normal, it was likely the updates.  Sorry, I can't be of more help on this one.

No problem. Yes it seems to be resolved and I didn't mean specifically return labels. It originated with a label (for an item being returned) but the problem was noticed on normal shipping labels for new orders.

I had "messed with" my return address on a shipping label for a return item. Then noticed the flip back and forth on future "new" order labels where the return address on those was inconsistent.

Either way seems to have been resolved so I'll chop it up to Thursday gremlins but it was soooooooo weird. To ship out 4 new orders (2 & 2) within 12hrs and see different forms of my shipping labels was odd from a technological side. It had been almost a week since I had even touched my return address settings.

All is well that ends well, onto the next EBay issues/shenanigans 🤣

Gotcha.  Well, it likely was a Thursday thing.  Esp on Thursdays, I have seen a lot of something implemented or changed & then changes back & then changes back to the new way, etc.  So, what you're describing very much sounds like a Thursday glitch.   Let's hope the issues/shenanigans stop for awhile!  Wishful thinking, I know 😀
