Why can't I send a greeting card by eBay standard post when it fits the criteria?

I was a Top Rated Seller Plus on eBay until this year when I had to have 3 surgeries. I am now trying to regain that status. One thing I sell are 4.5" x 5.25" x 1/8" handmade greeting cards. In the shipping envelope they weigh 2 oz. When I made my listings it said I could use eBay standard shipping so I put that as an optiion. Someone bought one today, paid the eBay standard shipping cost. I went to make my label and that option was not available. I had to use Media Mail which was $3.19. My cards meet all criteria for eBay standard shipping. Whenever someone buys them, they pay eBay standard shipping but them I get stuck paying for Media Mail. Spent 1 1/2 hours talking to 2 people at eBay & a supervisor on eBay and no one could help me at all or give me an answer. The supervisor said that greeting cards are fine to mail eBay standard. Help!!!

I  don't know except about why first class isn't an option but media mail is definitely not allowable for a greeting card.

Hope someone can help you, but please stop misusing    media mail

No, they don't. They're not listed in one of the very few categories for which eBay "Standard" shipping is available.

This is a major flaw in eBay's listing form: It offers ALL shipping methods in every listing, but fails to give sellers a heads-up when they won't be able to purchase that service through eBay. This includes not only Standard shipping, but Retail Ground, Parcel Select Ground (except for TRS), and First Class letters and flats (AKA Large envelopes).

As noted in the other post, your greeting card is not eligible for Media Mail. You should have shipped it as a First Class letter or flat; if you wanted tracking, then package it appropriately so it can be mailed as a First Class package.

eBay Standard Envelope is for trading cards, coin/paper money, postcards or stamps. Greeting cards do not qualify for standard envelope or media mail.
