Why can't I purchase a USPS Parcel Select label on eBay? Why even offer it? This is getting crazy.

I list a lot of my items with Parcel Select as an option, the cheaper shipping price gets people to actually buy my items even if I would prefer they chose Priority. There is NEVER the option to choose it when I go to print the label through eBay so I'm left with two options: up it to Priority Mail for $2 out of my pocket or even more depending on the item or using a third party site like pirateship (it's a few cents more expensive) and I can't use pending payments for the latter. How much longer is this going to be an issue? Why even offer it as an option if there's no intention of making it available at the label purchase page?  I'm losing a little money every time someone buys with Parcel Select and I'd hate to ditch it completely since I'm actually making sales with it as the first option.

Maybe I just don't understand it and there are limitations to it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

eBay has decided to phase out access to Parcel Select Ground labels, even though USPS has made no changes in their services or policies, and it's offered by all other online postage sellers including PayPal, endicia, stamps.com, etc. When it's not offered, the shipping label page usually defaults to the first option on the list which is flat rate envelope. You can purchase Parcel Select Ground postage through PayPal at

www.PayPal.com/shipnow

But do compare prices before you do that. For Zones 1 - 4, the USPS online price for Priority Mail is  less than a dollar more than Parcel Select Ground. If you're a TRS you get a 3% discount when purchasing Priority labels through eBay, which often makes it cheaper than Parcel Select

IMHO Parcel Select ground should only be offered when necessary such as for hazmat or Oversize packages (i.e., length-plus-girth above the Priority limit of 108 inches).

There has been no actual announcement about this new policy. You can see a passing mention of it in post #15 in this weekly chat:

I only use Parcel Select as an option for my larger and heavier items. I guess I'm just confused why they even let you choose it as a shipping option while creating your listing if they have no intention of letting you purchase a label once the buy is made.

I kind of quit using PayPal for anything eBay related once I was moved to Managed Payments but I can see now that it can still be a viable option when it comes to shipping.

Thank you for the assistance. I will look into this further with the information you have provided.

You can purchase parcel select in the app. Pay and then there is option to print or email. Simply email it to yourself.

You are also able to use your pending

payouts to pay.
