Why can't I pay for the shipping?

Can anyone help me to understand why they are only allowing to use paypal to pay for shipping on my orders? I have a card and bank account attached to Ebay but only the bubble available to me is - Pay with linked paypal account and pay with balance owed "From recent sales I think" and neither has enough to cover the cost.

If Managed Payments is not allowing you to select paying for the shipping label with pending payouts, then you will have to move some funds over to your Paypal account.  I've had to do that on a couple of occasions, and on other occasions ebay just debited my checking account.

@jefferkan-0   The next time you print a label switch from PayPal to eBay.  They will take funds out of your Available funds even if the value goes to a negative amount.  If it goes long enough without more money coming in (I don't know the time period, they have not explained that to my knowledge) then they take it from your back up payment method which could be a credit card or your bank account.

Here's a pic from June, this is right after they sent a Payout and then I printed labels, they come out of Available funds and it goes negative until more money is switched from Processing to Available.

The options above are only a couple of ways to skin this cat. If you want to pay for your shipping using your attached bank account or a credit card, just go to your PayPal wallet and select that method as your 'Preferred' method of payment while shopping online.

I've been in MP a couple of years and I keep a zero PP balance. I choose to pay for shipping from my attached bank account. I select PayPal and MP debits my account next-day. Some shippers use a credit card. Your choice.
