Where is my package

I ordered an item from the USA and it is currently  being shipped to the Netherlands with USPS first class mail. The tracking website says:

"Your item departed a transfer airport in INTERNATIONAL, MIAMI, UNITED STATES on June 19, 2019 at 7:49 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination."

Does this mean that the item left the airport? Is it at the customs? It isn't in the plane already; the website of Schiphol (that's the airport I assume it will be sent to) denies that a plane from Miami arrives today, and if the plane left at 7:49, it would arrive today.

Don't believe that the scan information will always be 100% accurate

Wait for the update in the next progress  scan

Re: Where is my package

The scan does not inform you that the Package is onboard a plane.

It is a departure scan, which means it could still be at the airport .

Thanks!

One more thing, could I assume that it will fly directly to Schiphol Amsterdam in the Netherlands or is it also possible that it will first fly to another airport, and then fly to Schihol?

With shipping, nothing is predictable ...

Re: Where is my package

You might want to put on some patience, the tracking says it's on the way to the destination. It is extremely unlikely that an item that left on Wednesday from Miami will be received in less than a day in the Netherlands.

Please be realistic, and just keep watching the tracking as it is updated at each hub. USPS doesn't supply real-time, minute-by-minute item location tracking status.

It is entirely possible that it might go somewhere else first. I have seen Germany being used as a hub for some of my packages that were actually going to other countries.

The Netherlands is (are?) on the list of e-DELCON countries that support tracking data sent back to the U.S. (the full list can be seen here), so I would be optimistic that you will see more information about it once it has crossed the Atlantic.

Re: Where is my package

Some USPS International shipping services  do not show tracking all the way to the  buyers  point of entry country.  You  can  get a service taht tracks it all the way but the  price ain't  cheap.  For example, Standard USPS International  Priority Mail will only show where & when the  package  left the United States by air.  I think I read something  that shipments to Canada can be  tracked all the way to the buyers address - maybe I'm wrong but it  is no cheap either.

Re: Where is my package

I have shipped many, many packages to the Netherlands from the US.  (I have a friend who lives there as well as a regular customer.)

It typically takes 7-10 days for things to be delivered there once they have left the US, so I would relax and sit back and just wait.

Re: Where is my package

Sorry but  have shipped stuff overseas (European  countries primarily, once to Australia) via USPS Priority Mail International & what I stated was exactly what happened - last  scan were when they  left NY/NJ or Miami or LA as I recall).    The only way I could get tracking to the buyers address was via UPS at  big $.

This  is one of the reasons why I stopped shipping stuff out side of the 50 United States & US Protectorates several years ago.  Too much of  a hassle and didn't  fall in luv with  the GSP program.

Re: Where is my package

A lot has changed in several years so the advice you gave is / was totally incorrect, there are now numerous Delcon Countries which provide tracking to the door with USPS 1st class package, Priority Mail always for me has tracking to the door, tracking also updates on the relevant countries Postal website many times faster and more detailed than USPS.
