Hello. I'm a casual seller with a question on shipping.
The listing setup page seems to have changed since I used it last. How do I know when it would be necessary to use the "Freight: Oversized" option under Shipping Method? My other options are "Local Pickup Only" or "Standard Shipping: Small to medium items."
If I choose "Standard Shipping" it lets me choose a carrier. If I choose "Freight" I can't choose a carrier.
If I have a package that is 18" x 15" x 8", and weighs just over 3 pounds, is that considered "Standard Shipping: Small to medium"? The USPS website considers this a Large package.
Any help is appreciated.

Yes, it is. The "Freight" shipping option is for packages that are too big to ship via the usual carriers (USPS, UPS, and FedEx).
Your package is indeed "large" by USPS standards, since it is over 1 cubic foot and will ship at a dimensional rate of about 13 pounds. But it is well within the size limits for shipping via USPS, so it's not 'Large" in the sense that you should choose Freight when setting up the listing. eBay and USPS are using different definitions for "Large."
