When to open case.

Hi all.

I have ordered motorcycle rear shocks from UK  shop, this was 16. march. Seller responded next day that they dont have this exact model in store, and they could send me different color product, or I can wait 2-3 weeks untill they got right product from distributor.

So, I respond that I can wait, cos I want that exact model.

After two weeks they send wrong models anyway, this was 5. april. I contacted seller and they were sorry, and ask me to send them back and wait little longer those right models.

So, I send them back, whit my own expence (no ebay case) and got also money back for this.

Now seller has informed me that right product has arrived and sended to me.

Now comes my question. It seems that when I get my product, it has been way over 30 days, and if there is some problem, (wrong product etc.) is it too late to open a case.

I once asked this from ebay, but they just give me some automatic answer how to open a case, they did not aswered when is too late to open a case.

I used paypal for buying, and all messages between me and seller are safe, I also took pictures of this wrong model what they send at first.

On eBay, you have 30 days after delivery of your item to open a case ... which in your case is probably the first item you received on April 5, so your case-opening deadline would be May 4 or 5.  You can only open up one Not as Described case on eBay.

If you are beyond the 30 day window, you have 180 days after your purchase date to open an Item Not Described case with PayPal.
