So I ordered a pretty pricey item from Japan but despite this the price was pretty good considering everything so I decided it was worth it.
The next day or soS The seller tells me that fedex is closed and and package will be shipped the next day
That's fine
But the next day I'm given a tracking number and the destination appears to be a residence 4 hours from me?! I tried to change to to a holding facility on my state but since I do not have the label I cannot change it
I have contacted the seller but so far I haven't gotten a response (it's only been a couple hours since I messaged them) if I do not ever get a response what should I do? Has this ever happened to anybody here before? Will I be able to get a refund if they don't answer or change the destination in time?

I called FedEx as soon as I saw the destination location they told me yes that they couldn't confirm exactly where it's going but it is going to PA in a town I have never even been to. As far as I know delivering to other addresses other then the one connected to your eBay account unless requested otherwise by the buyer is against the rules on ebay. So I'm staring to get pretty annoyed with this seller and this should have been sorted out as soon as an issue arose.

I've tried but they take 24 hours to respond everytime. No sense of urgency. They said yesterday they would contact FedEx and now the package is arriving to this other location today. Really pissing me off. I'm probably going to end up just having to fight to get my money back.

Update: FedEx says the package is delivered to this place and even provided an image of a house that isn't mine. Package shape looks different from what I ordered. Meanwhile Ebay just says shipped. What in the world is going on?! I'm starting to get annoyed with this seller barley responding or explaining anything to me. I want to start I case with ebay right now for A refund but I can't because ebay says it hasn't arrived yet

You don't need to call FedEx to check if it's not your item? Just look at the tracking page.
If for example you bought a 6-inch Japanese doll
-- but tracking says that it is 54 pounds and 4 feet wide, then it is not your item.
What does your tracking say, @casual_collector6?

If you start an Item Not Received case with eBay for a refund @casual_collector6 you will immediately lose, and the case will close without a refund -- because the bot, not a human, sees tracking showing that something was delivered somewhere.
Instead, without opening a case, leave a private message here for eBay on Facebook, or open an account just to contact eBay, and tell eBay that it was delivered in PA, not to you.

The dimensions and weight for the package delivered to pa could honestly be correct as far as I'm concerned but the name of the package in the picture doesn't seem to fit those measurements. Not entirely sure thevthe image is so low quality and far away

Ebay actually only says the package is "shipped" ehile FedEx says "delivered" with a picture. I also do not have a Facebook account and don't really wish to have one. Is there another way I could contact ebay that doesn't require me to sit tgeryand create an account on a third party site? This seem ridiculous. I think I'm going to stick with Amazon after this.

If you contact eBay via chat or phone callback @casual_collector6 it'll likely be the outsourced customer support that uses prewritten scripts, and they'll be unable to understand your misdelivery, they will open a case for you, and the bot will close it without a refund.
Facebook and Twitter is the only way right now to reach US eBay employees. You're only using Facebook to contact eBay by private message, not to share recipes, show off photos of the family, etc.
This a very simple scam, which can happen on Amazon and everywhere else.

I called ebay and it was a human person very willing to help. They saw my package arrived to a different address then the adress provided in my account. They also noticed that the seller did not purchase a shipping label. A case was opened for me and still is open. The seller has 8 days to respond until eBay can give more pushback

It’s unlikely that a customer service would know if a Japanese seller purchased a label. A label from Japan would not be purchased on the eBay site.

Exactly, by the numbers, 1, 2, 3:
@casual_collector6 wrote:1. I called ebay and it was a human person very willing to help.
@papa486516 wrote:1. If you contact eBay via chat or phone callback
Chat or callback will always be a human.
@casual_collector6 wrote:2. They saw my package arrived to a different address then the adress provided in my account. They also noticed that the seller did not purchase a shipping label.

That human was unable to understand that a refund is due immediately, as the package will not be more misdelivered in 1 day or 1 week -- it's misdelivered now -- and they don't get it ... and you didn't get it.

And they opened a case for you. Then in 6 days (not 8 days) either you or the seller can ask eBay to step in, and the bot will close the case a few minutes later without a refund, because tracking shows Delivered.

I don't know what to tell you man. Case is open. I got an email literally saying that the seller has until the 12th then I can contact ebay again directly. I didn't even open the case myself they did when I called because for whatever reason my phone wouldn't let me. Okay so it's actually 6 days whatever I miss counted on my calendar. If my case get's closed I'll just call them again. I don't see the big deal.

Hello
If your real.address is on the order You placed on the Market Place, the shipping label Will show the same address You type, but then once in transit, the Carrier Will re-route by mistake Even to another state, causing most of the time a delayed, but sometimos still be re-routed and Will be on-time, and when this happens the customers does not realized that in fact the Carrier is the one at fault is very important to understand on in-transit issues all seller Will not have any control to avoid them, is until the customer who is following the package every day, that Will alert the seller, once a re-route issue is noticed online, at this point, the seller Will contact the Carrier to see the reason for this issue, and if not satisfied with the response seller can Open a search request with FedEx or UPS, and USPS Will search only if the package is protected up to $100 the Carrier usually answers within 5 to 10 days, and haré is where the seller Will offer other options to fix the problem to the customer like sending another new item or a full refund. Hope this comment based on lots of similar real life experiences we had in the past. And do not put the blame on the seller on this type of issues, we just pay for this 3rd party providers Service.
Good luck!!!

This was my initial thought however FedEx actually showed a picture of the doorstep it was delivered to. A doorstep that is not mine so it was definitely delivered somewhere instead of being rerouted. My assumption now is three things.
1. I was given the wrong tracking info
2. Seller sent my package the wrong address/ used the wrong lablel
3. It's a scam
I don't want the last one to ne True but it is an easy possibility
I somewhat do blame the seller for having a lack of communication with me. This is a pretty important situation and they don't seem to have a sense of urgency at all taking up to a day or two just to send one single very brief message. I'm just waiting to see if the opening this case will wake them up or something.

Update:
I was refunded yay. The seller said something in the messagesr about "the same product scheduled for next month" does anyone know what that means scheduled for who, me or them? I tried to ask them but yet again. No answer. Typical
