This is not a rant on ebay, or even any vender. But, what is going on with shipping this last week?
1. Ebay item from UK. THing made it across the pond no problem. It arrived in california, swapped over to UPS and, then said "significant weather events..." when in cali. Ok fine... so it delayed a couple days then finally arrives in Misquite TX.. .the last stop before my local hub. Well... it got lost there. It made it alll the way through ocean, hurricane, and fire just to get lost in a severe clear 50mi from me. Of course you ask them about it and they say "oh, well it experienced weather delays".. uhh no, that was 1000 miles ago. I think it made it through that just fine.
2. Ordered a camera from best buy. Ok, You know... one of those you will get it tomorrow deals. Great! Well, UPS says "packaged has experienced a sortation delay". I think that means it was sorted wrong. Ok fine.. .well... it holds there almost 24hrs, and finally leaves the hub, but still going the wrong direction. What went from tomorrow (Thursday) is now Monday.
3. Same order from BB, a memory card. This one is easy... this time it is FedEx. Its only coming from less than 60mi north of me. It made it to the Hutchins Tx hub. no problem, apparently left the hub 8hrs later. It was due to deliver today, but I just get this generic "delayed", but they give no estimated delivery date. It just says sometime between tomorrow (Thursday) and Sunday! What?? Hey, i'm a reasonalbe guy. I day late isnt a big deal.. but, if they bust something in the system, its like that package has some curse the rest of the way, and has to have special slow handling at every point thereafter. I mean.. if it left the hub late, cant you just say it will be there tomorrow (thursday) pretty confidently?
What the hell is happening. I cant order anything and not have some inept shipping problem. Before this, I rarely had a problem. Am I living in a cave and missing something? I dont see why everything is so broken right now. I mean, not any more now than it was a month ago anyway. Did UPS/FedEx, or anyone file for bankrupcy or experience some meteor strike, and half of the world is gone or something?
