What happens when a buyer returns an item that is different from the one originally shipped. process

What happens when an item returned by a buyer is different from the one originally shipped. How is the procedure to close the return?

The case is closed when you send the refund. Unfortunately Ebay has no way of knowing that they shipped the wrong item back and they don't care anyways. Hopefully wasn't alot of money. Block the buyer right away.

Contact the buyer and ask them why they sent back the wrong item. Contact ebay so they can be reported and they may not make you refund the purchase. If it's a substantial dollar amount you can do a police report and give them the report number and they will refund you.
