What does "accepted with reserve" mean?

I purchased a item from Italia and the item is in transit now.

Seller sent me following message after shipping.

It 'important that, at the time of receipt of the goods, always write that -accepted with reserve- to be protected from damage caused by courier. Only by doing this you are protected from damage (in the absence of -accepted with reservations- we are not responsible for any damage).

What does "accepted with reserve" mean? I do not understand it.
What should I do when I receive the item?

I already asked seller it. But seller does not respond to me yet.

Please advise.

I think they are wanting you to sign that way "accepted with reserve" in the event that there is hidden damage caused by the carrier. They think that this will protect them from being held responsible if the item arrives damaged. 

At least that's my take on this.
