What does "In Transit, Arriving Late" means?

I have ordered an item on eBay and made purchase on the June 5. Delivery is to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

I checked the postage details, it says that the item has been Shipped from the Global Shipping Center to International Destination from Erlanger , Kentucky on June 11. The last postage detail I got from Parcel Tracker (which is on June 13) is "In Transit, Arriving Late". What does that mean?

The estimated delivery date given by eBay is on June 21. Will they make it?

It's meaning would depend on what system generated the message.  The USPS uses that message to indicate that there is no recent tracking, and that the lack of tracking updates suggests that the package will arrive later than normal.

No way to know this.

Just be patient. Your package may or may not arrive on time.

It may also never arrive. I had this happen recently to me, and the buyer was very annoyed, but you could see I shipped on time, and that it was just...STUCK somewhere. It never changed, and the item never came back to me.  Still to this day (I just checked) three months later the tracking still says "Item in transit, Arriving Late." Buyer opened an INAD case, I had to refund the buyer plus shipping, and was out the item as well. Anyway, I'm sorry this has happened to you and I hope hope hope your item arrives! But if it doesn't, work with eBay and know that it has NOTHING to do with the seller and they can't do anything. I wonder what they do with all of these missing items...sell them?

I really hope this doesn't happen to me. Strangely though I received a text message from Skynet Malaysia that they are on the way to perform delivery today, but they never came. eBay tracking report still shows the same message, dated Jun 13. Guess I have to wait till the next day before I call Skynet for clarification.

It means that the USPS has misplaced or re-routed your package and you might not get it in the time that ebay guaranteed it. (June 21 is still days away).
Ebay doesn't make it clear enough that it is THEIR guarantee, not the seller's and not the carrier's.

@vermontpastry
Did you open a claim with USPS? If it was a First Class, they will reimburse you up to $50. If it was Priority Mail, they will reimburse up to $100 (more if it was insured). You will need to submit your sales record, just follow the prompts from their website. USPS is actually pretty good about paying for packages they lost.

No.

Domestic First Class Package has no insurance unless paid for separately, and Priority Mail has $50 automatic insurance unless eBay seller is TRS or possible if purchased through other PC Postage providers (then it's $100).

International First Class Package International Service has no insurance (and none is available except through third party insurers), and Priority Mail International (and Priority Mail Express International have $200 default indemnity.

Not so.....I've had this happen to me several times within the past 3 months. USPS states, unless First Class mail is Insured, they would not pay a claim.
