200 lb Corrugated RSC cardboard box 22x8x6. What’s the estimated weight range of this box? I’m thinking about a pound. Is that about right? Let me know if I’m way off. Thanks.

Don't you have a scale?

22.00 inches is oversize.  So it may be even more than a smaller box.

Yes but I don’t have the box. Oversized or not, I still need a weight estimate. I’m not looking for the price to ship one of these.

I'm thinking about more than one pound.

You're not way off.  Allowing a pound is a reasonable strategy, especially considering that postage is priced per full pound so being off by a couple ounces usually wouldn't affect the postage price.

USPS doesn't have any "oversize" definition based on length, at least for domestic shipping. Do you have a link?

Thanks. I was just looking for a rough estimate and it seems this'll work.

1 lb. per box?  Wow that's heavy.  I hope you're not shipping that to Hawaii.  Good luck!   😉

200lb corrugated is heavy duty or double wall correct?  If so then it's likely  well over 1 lb.

I use 12x12x10 double wall boxes and they are 1 lb.

I can tell you that my 10 x 8 x 6 200# side opening boxes weighs 7.6 oz. So I think your box will be  about a pound depending on the flap configuration (side opening vs end opening). Side opening may go slightly over a pound.

Google is your friend. I started by pasting your description of "200 lb Corrugated RSC cardboard box 22x8x6" into a Google search, with "unit weight" hung on the end to try to narrow down the results. The Uline.com website doesn't seem to have 22"x8"x6" in a quick search, but they did have 22"x8"x8", which I thought was probably close enough for government work. 😉 Clicking on their model S-22654 box led me to its spec sheet, and expanding the "Additional Info" link on that page shows that it has a Unit Weight of 0.81 pounds:

So there you are.

Awesome help everyone. I really appreciate it. This is enough data for me to use. Didn't expect so many of you who knew about this. Thanks again.

You also won't be charged the oversized package fee.  USPS changed the rule to packages measuring up to one cubic foot before the charge is assessed.  So a 22x8x6 box still falls under the regular rate.
