Void label due to mail delayed

I have dropped off a media mail that never been scanned into the system. I checked with post office, and they have no idea where my item could be at. So my question is, If I void the label, will they send the item back (if they happen to find my mail after I voided the label) ?

Media mail is practically at a stand still right now.  Your item is probably loaded in a semi and won't be scanned at a sorting center for a few weeks.  If you void the label you will just get a charge for it once the item starts moving and the book will still get delivered to buyer at some point in the future.

Ya can't  void a label  after 5 days from purchasing the label on eBay

"How long you have to void a shipping label depends on the shipping service you used.

• USPS: You have 5 days to void a USPS shipping label that you printed on eBay, and it can take up to 21 days for USPS to approve or reject the refund. If it's approved, you'll receive an email that you have been refunded
• UPS: You have 24 hours to void a UPS label. If you don't use the label within 5 days, the label will be automatically voided and a credit will be issued to your PayPal account, monthly invoice, or UPS account, depending on how you paid for the label

No if you void they do Not send package back. If you void a USPS label it is given 14 days or more (depends on delivery option). If no scan during that time it gets voided and cost refunded. Package will continue on it's way and if it gets a scan after refunded then you will be charged.
