Void/Cancel and Refund USPS Label printed via QR Code?

I literally printed out the label an hour ago, however I need to void it and eBay is telling me I cant. Using the standard "Action-> Void" takes me to a page saying "This shipping label can't be cancelled because it has already been used."

I've voided labels before, but those were printed at home..is there a reason USPS/Ebay wont let me void this one? I haven't even dropped off the item, nor do I intend to as there is an issue with the product and I will have to cancel the order and refund buyer.

Check to make sure you're voiding the correct label.

If it's the correct label, plug the tracking into the carrier website to see if there are any scans.

General info:

To void a shipping label purchased through eBay, go to this page, find the order and select Void from the Actions drop-down. The void option is available for 5 days.

It takes between 2-4 weeks to receive a refund on an unused, voided label. You'll see the refund on your original source of payment (bank, credit card, etc) and the funds will appear in your account without an email notification.

Printed eBay Standard Envelope labels are non-refundable and cannot be voided.

eBay International Standard Delivery labels are not charged to your account until they are used, so there is no void option.

I've never had any trouble voiding a label through the drop-down menu... but I've also never received such a message. Hmmm... 🤔

Most common reasons for error messages on void attempts:

- label was already used / seller is trying to void the wrong tracking number

- service is not eligible to void, such as eBay Standard Envelope

- seller waited more than the measly 5 days eBay allots for submitting a void request

Based on the error message OP is seeing, #1 above is most likely scenario.

I did exactly that. It's just saying USPS is awaiting the item. I obviously didn't ship it today and the label is sitting on my desk unused. So the #1 doesn't make sense. I only printed it at the self service kiosk with the QR code.

Printing it at the SSK is the issue. That gives the label a provisional tracking scan so the label can't be voided because USPS considers it used.

I have 2 stores and about 4x monthly I need to void a label to add more ounces. I haven't in at least a year ever gotten refunds from the PO.

Not for a label purchased online.

Thank you, I figured that had to be it since it was the only difference from prior shipments and voiding
