USPS is hurting my business. Every week they lose packages and don't update the tracking. Buyers open cases, and I lose them because USPS updates the tracking days after it was received.I just want to let you know that this is disastrous, thanks

I changed my handling time from 3 days to 5 to avoid any defects or INR cases due to USPS new tracking practices. So far it's doing well. The PO that picks up my packages doesn't scan any more, items get a scan when they reach the next facility and it's within my handling time.
When I can I take items to a po to get a scan receipt.

I have 11 packages mailed in 2nd week of March that still haven't been delivered. Truth is it's only going to get worse. I've not had one single item delivered on time in over 4 months. I file a lost packages refund as soon as I can and get the insurance paid and then get it delivered. Double dip, sure I'm making them pay for this crap. Had more lost pages this year that last 14 years together. Actually twice as many now.

As a seller; I'm going to do that.. It's a good idea, thank you.
As a buyer; In the last 4 months I've had a huge percentage of orders delivered late. I did not ding my sellers, even the untracked one's where it asked "did this package arrive on time" I selected yes.
I understand it's not their fault and I refuse to punish them for it.
Sadly, most buyers either aren't aware or are impatient. Worse case, they understand the system and want a refund & a freebie. SIGH
I hope USPS can work this out.. Perhaps THEY should change their estimated times..

All my USPS packages are picked up at my business address. They are all scanned before they ever leave the building. I wonder if since they are picked up at a business they get better service than if from a home. Same with FedEX and UPS, all packages are scanned right on premis. I have never had an issue.

I worked for USPS and it's true, they don't care. The ONLY packages I saw handled properly and were ensured they were kept track of were those with high insurance on them because the PO did not want to have to pay that money out.

My home carrier scans them either right there on my porch or when he gets back to his truck around the corner. Always. I'm pretty sure you're more likely to get a carrier to scan stuff than just dropping the at the PO.

Where you are and who works for local post office has a lot to do with whether your experience is good or bad.
I have had some late packages recently, and fortunately I have buyers who are good people and very understanding.
I have been doing a little more babysitting my shipments recently, and have had information for my buyers before they have asked. If they trust you and actually want the merchandise they ordered, they will not file INRs. Having information, including results of missing package cases builds trust.
My carrier does not scan when he picks up. I do not go to the PO on a regular basis. I have a 5 day handling time. Most of my shipments arrive early. Those that do not clearly are misplaced in process.

Every week??? This suggests that possibly your mailing labels are falling off your packages. How are you printing them, and how are you attaching them?
Your feedback suggests that you have a lot of issues with packaging and preventing damage to the product inside. Are you using boxes, or padded envelopes?

Do you wait at the post office to have your packages scanned by a clerk?
If not, then there is simply no guarantee when your items will be scanned, if ever.
In 26 years of selling I've had one parcel go missing in the USPS system.
