I had a bit of trouble of shipping because apparently i didn't even notice my shipping was selected to first class instead of priority mail. So after I have set to use priority mail, if a buyer, buys a item, and I print the label, could I use any of the simple blank cardboard boxes as well as blank bubble envelopes instead of having to go to a USPS post office and get the free envelopes?

The answer to the quote above is yes, but the answer to your title for this thread is no.
Your title mentions flat rate shipping. If you purchase a label for a Priority Mail flat rate box, then you can only use it on a flat rate box, which you can get at the PO or order online.
If you want to ship via Priority Mail and use a plain brown box or bubble envelope, then yes you can do that: When you are purchasing your shipping label you must choose regular Priority Mail package/thick envelope (not a flat rate box) so that you will pay the correct postage, which is based on weight and dimensions of your box and on how far away your buyer lives.

You can use plain boxes and envelopes with ZONED Priority labels. YOU CAN NOT USE FLAT RATE LABELS ON ANYTHING BUT THE CORESPONDING FLAT RATE MAILERS.

For you immediate needs go to your PO and get what ever Priority boxes or envelopes (probably only the card board style) they have. They won't have everything USPS has to offer - a few examples that they probably won't have are Padded Flat Rate envelopes, Regional Rate A & B boxes, shoe box, etc. But you can order them from the USPS website (USPS.com then go to shipping supplies) and have them delivered to our home - no charge to you - may take 7 to 10 days to get them but heck it is free -sometimes they arrive faster & sometimes they take longer.

Many of your items could ship first class. Is there any particular reason why you want to use Priority?
