Hey all,
I am confused on what to do with my situation as I’ve purchased a used item from a seller with a positive rating ratio. The shipping & handling is 5 days. I’ve purchased it on the 29th September 2021 from Australia. The seller is based in Malta. I have messaged the seller on the 5th day to ask if the seller required any assistance with shipment—no response. I’ve messaged the seller yesterday 5th October 2021—no response.
So far, I have not been notified of any postage details and my payment method being Paypal has likely clearly instantly into their account.
I am in need of this item soon so what actions do I have?
Thanks!

Ebay has a Money Back Guarantee.
If it does not arrive by the last estimated delivery date just file a case with ebay for "Item Not Received."
When a case is opened the seller has to prove it was delivered to your address or refund.

Hello,
Am I able to request for a refund? I am in need of a particular automotive item and there are other options to choose from.

If you don't get your item, you can absolutely get your money back, no need to worry about that (through PayPal, eBay or a CC chargeback as a last resort.) They have no proof it arrived, or even it was shipped, so you will always win a claim like this.
It might be due to problems in Australia, they are having major problems with international shipping right now (you can't send anything to Australia from America right now because of it.)

You can contact the seller and ask them to cancel but they are not obligated to do so.
They may have already shipped it.
Lack of a tracking number being provided is poor communication but does not mean it has not or will not be shipped.
I have seen instances where an item was drop-shipped from a local distributer the night before it was due and arrived on time.
I have been in a similar situation when ordering important parts. I ended up ordering from more than one seller and then sold the extra part.

Hello,
The seller is based in Malta. The seller is also unresponsive so my refund request may not work.

Sellers are not required to reply to messages, provide tracking numbers or even let you know if an item has been shipped.
Right now, there's noting you can do until a day after the last estimated delivery date.
If you don't have the item by then, open an Item Not Received case.
