Hi--
I sold an item via GSP which was received broken. I packed it well and suspect that the Erlanger KY people repackaged it inadequately. On the refund page, eBay says something along the lines of "if you believe the item was damaged between KY and your buyer, you may escalate the case. Come back to this page on September 14 to do so." There was NO way to escalate the case and ask eBay to take responsibility, so I just refunded the buyer, since he can't use a broken bowl.
How do I get eBay to escalate the case and consider compensation for their program damaging my item?

Try tomorrow on the 15th. They may actually be saying that AFTER the 14th you can escalate it.

I would probably call customer service on this just to ensure that the case is closed in your favor with ebay refunding the buyer. I don't trust the bots to handle this correctly. Good luck!

They kinda skipped that step. They already refunded the buyer.

You can’t escalate this now since you refunded the buyer. All you had to do was call customer service & have them close the request in your favor. They would have refunded the buyer out the GSPs pocket. All you can do is call customer service and hope they will issue you a courtesy refund but they may not do that. You aren’t supposed to refund the buyer and then ask eBay for compensation. That’s not how it works.
