USPS ??

So this morning around 8:20am I dropped off a package at my local post office in the drop box with a return shipping label on it. I printed it off of eBay and I securely taped it onto my package. It's around 7 right now and the tracking number still saids my package is yet to arrive at the post office. Should I be worried or anything? Keep in mind the return shipping label was straight from eBay and prepaid since it was from a return case.

Although I have never returned anything from here or any other online retailer, I personally only wait online and hand my pkgs at the counter so they can be scanned and not drop them off.  I am both a buyer and seller, but just to be on the safe side, I hand them off.

The pkg that you dropped in the box may not show movement for a few days (hopefully within a shorter timeframe).  If you still have the tracking number, I would enter it on the USPS site and get updates - it seems to work for me.

Many packages don't get scanned until late at night or in the wee hours, after they arrive at a sorting center many miles away. Some don't get scanned until they arrive at a sorting facility closer to the destination.

@wilsonsu  Take your packages to the counter and get an acceptence scan ... you will sleep better at night.  If you have to do what you did because of a day job then consider finding a post office close to work and take it over lunch ...

USPS tracking is down today all day. Nothing show up from today or update. At least some states. Most of the time it is not even possible to track items.http://downdetector.com/status/usps

Tracking was down for most of the day today.  I had a package get delivered at noon and it didn't get updated into the system until just about an hour ago.
