USPS

Ebay needs to extend the time for delivery for sellers using USPS. This is a mess, I have items just sitting and not moving and requests for a refund for none delivery. Our local news showed trucks back up a 1/2 mile waiting to get into a distribution center. Also I have had packages that were delivered and never scanned. This is going to be a losing Christmas for me. I'm thinking of stopping my items until the first of the year.

Re: USPS

Ebay. "Most item will arrive on time" NOT one of my packages sent in the past 3 weeks has arrived on time!!! 1/2 of them havent moved in days. Buyers are requesting refunds This is not going to end well.

Re: USPS

Why did the post office "temporarily" raise the rates if they can't get their sh#t together? I have been selling on Ebay for over 18 yrs (under a different ID) and have never seen anything like this. All my shipments say "High shipping volumes are causing some delays. Please allow extra time".  When I search my listings under my buying ID it says the item won't arrive til Dec 22nd and I do SAME DAY Shipping. Why would it possibly take that long to deliver in the same city? Ebay has pushed back the delivery times, which is actually hurting us sellers .As of yesterday my sales dropped off. Why? Because it's telling people out of state, the item won't arrive before Christmas. Usually I get a ton of last minute shoppers right now but not this year.

Re: USPS

Same for me.

I closed my store a couple of days ago due to shipping delays...and eBay holding my funds. I can’t afford it.

Re: USPS

I have orders shipped via USPS First Class which were scanned on time; however these orders have been sitting in local PO distribution centers for more than 12 days. I'm going to refund those buyers today who are waiting. According to eBay's timeline this is somehow my fault as a seller that packages are not arriving within their stated timeframe.

I also have 4 orders purchased from sellers which have been in transit for 10+ days - they were sent / scanned on time. They too are sitting at the PO DC  for 12+ days.  These are gifts.

Then I am putting my store on Away until January. I cannot make money operating like this, plus it is getting too labor intensive to check status of tracking each day.

eBay should seriously look at their "estimated delivery dates".  or First Class packages -- is not accurate.

I'm no longer buying with USPS shipping.

USPS has taken weeks to deliver items that should be delivered in days.   Not just recently but throughout this past year and not just my ebay orders but also other on-line sources.  I tried to not buy everything on Amazon but the USPS is forcing me to now only from big box and Amazon.

I feel for the small businesses trying to make a living and having a shipping partner that is sub-par in todays economy.

Re: USPS

***STAY AWAY FROM SHIPPING WITH USPS!!!!*** I am considering closing my store down too, as USPS is not scanning in the items dropped in drop boxes they are just putting on a pallet and letting the next facility scan them (this practice just seems crazy to me but this is what I was told by a postal employee after my packages are now 4 days old and are missing in action, doesn't even show I dropped them off at the post office). I cannot believe they think this is acceptable!! How do I even dispute this it is my word against the buyer, I am just done!! I am Hemorrhaging money at this point, Can't continue this as a small business.

Re: USPS

The sad and unfortunate thing here is USPS has no accountability and the customer only knows that they purchased something with you (the seller) and you (us sellers) are to be held accountable.  I've been looking at all our packages (delivered and NOT delivered) and technically if every single customer decided to just act like they didnt receive their packages they could bankrupt us all.  I would say 80-90% of our packages have no updated tracking info.  This is just insane, no other business could run like this BUT since its USPS they really could care less and since nobody can do a thing about it why would they care? lol  They know this and they know that since their price point is way better (on low weight items) we cant really go anywhere else and if we did we would have to bump our prices way up to recoop those costs (losing buyers in the process).  I'd like to the buy their excuses that this is COVID related and they are short staffed and people are buying more while working from home BUT are we seriously to be believe that a "good managerial staff" didnt foresee this coming?  You arent prepared to have part time workers to handle the work load?  Again, they dont care as they've been running a business thats been in the RED for decades and just getting hand outs from the government.  I wish i could run my business like that but nobody is handing me squat.

Re: USPS

Just don't use USPS and make your buyers pay the extra for UPS and FedEx. Happens all the time to me; ever since the Apple Watch I sold was delayed by 40 days to Puerto Rico from Miami, I've exclusively used UPS and FedEx unless the buyer is a huge USPS fanboy. FedEx gives me 60% discounts on Express shipping and reduces the 2Day price to only $13.50 for a small package to an urban area.
