USPS suspends deliveries due to extreme cold
Weather forecasters are warning of dangerously cold conditions in parts of the nation. Some places could see wind chill readings as low as 60 below zero. Due to this arctic outbreak and concerns for the safety of USPS employees, the Postal Service is suspending delivery Jan. 30 in the following 3-digit ZIP Code locations:

I took a couple of packages to my local PO (IN 468xx) this afternoon and they told me there will be no deliveries tomorrow either.

I have a package that is making it's way across country - Massachusetts to Nevada. Just got an "exception notice" due to weather - it's in Illinois right now.

Over 1600 Chicago-area flights have been canceled. That's going to affect packages from all over, even if neither sender nor recipient is in an affected area.

The entire state of Iowa should be on that list. No mail today & possibly tomorrow.
