I sold a package to a buyer on July 30th and shipped it out the same day. Its projected delivery date was August 4th-11th. Yet here I am on August 17th and it still has not been delivered. Now I wouldn't be that worried about this except for the fact that the last shipping update was on August 5th saying it was in transit to the next facility and I haven't heard anything since. My buyer hasn't made any complaints or anything yet, but I want to get ahead of this in case I need to take some sort of action.
I am kind of an on again off again seller on ebay so is this just something that happens every once and a while and I shouldn't worry about it because it will eventually be delivered. Or should I be contacting the USPS since I haven't heard anything in 12 days. Thanks for any advice

Never contact buyer....wait for buyer to contact you first.
Was this maybe a 'freight forward' purchase?
Usually if it a domestic address the 'estimated date of delivery' can change in the item sold...
Look at item sold...not tracking of any sorts...and see if the date got changed...this is something new I have experienced.
If it's freight forward...sometimes those miss a delivery scan...and can cause a refund.
Check buyer feedbacks eBay ID to make sure buyer is stated as in USA and not another country.

Hi thanks for the response. Yeah he seems to be US based, so I don't think its freight forward, which is one of the reasons I was so surprised that he hadn't received it yet. Sorry I am kind of non proficient with ebays seller hub when you say the item sold do you mean the original listing? Because the only delivery date its giving me is the original tracking date on seller hub.

Not tracking.
Look at item sold...and 'estimated date of arrival'...that is the date usually before a buyer so open to get a refund.

Ah okay thanks for the help. Yeah it looks like its between August 20th and the 22nd, so hopefully it will have arrived by then.

If USPS will allow you to open a missing package request, open one.

Then you will have something you can say to the buyer if they inquire about Where's My Stuff.

If it's been a week since the original EDD and the buyer hasn't complained, the item has almost certainly been delivered.

My funds for the purchase of the item are still on hold though. If it is the case that it has been delivered and the trackings just terrible will it eventually register as delivered? Thanks.

Thanks for the advice I will try this, and like you said even if I don't learn anything I can show it to my buyer.

It won’t necessarily be marked as delivered, but your funds will eventually be released. It just can take longer if there’s no Delivered scan on the tracking.

The search will go to the delivery local post office. I have had good luck with the postmasters from small towns reaching out to me to track down the package. Last one called me! I haven't had anything lost in a big city yet....
