USPS package research case

Buyer is generally responsible to make sure that the right address is on an order.  There is a section of the checkout page where one can add any address they wish and there one could see if the address eBay has on file is correct down to the Apt number.  It his hard to find on a computer and even harder to see when one uses the app.

Yes, seeing if you can work with your local PO might be the best approach.  Item might not get shipped back right away and you could pick it up there - with proper ID.

As to whether the seller might reship the item - not likely.  er. unless you pay for shipping again.  Seller doesn't want to take a financial hit for a mistake in entering the address.  When it gets back to the send they should issue you a refund, if not contact customer service and see if they will help you get a refund..

Might it make some sense to go to your eBay profile and check addresses on file and make any changes necessary?
